According to the images that have surfaced online and shared by 52 Audio, a website which has had an on and off track record when it comes to correct information, the AirPods 3 may look a lot like the AirPods Pro. The design similarities include small stem design and removable eartips — something that isn’t there in the first two generations of AirPods.
The report claims that the stem of the alleged AirPods 3 is slightly longer than AirPods Pro and will retain pressure-sensitive touch.
Even the case of the AirPods 3 is said to sport a similar looking design as the AirPods Pro, however, it is expected to be smaller in size.
In terms of features, the report adds that the Apple AirPods 3 may come with support for Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which if it happens to be true, will be a first for non-Pro AirPods.
As of now, it is hard to say Apple is expected to launch these AirPods. Earlier rumours had suggested that the company is likely to hold an event on March 16, but just last week, in a report by Bloomberg, Mark Gurman — who has been accurate about Apple too many times — has claimed that Apple is not holding any event on March 16.
