Huawei has announced that it will unveil another foldable phone Mate X2 on February 22. Huawei Mate X2 will join the existing Huawei Mate X and Mate Xs foldable phones offered by the company. Huawei shared a post on Chinese microblogging site Weibo announcing the launch date of Mate X2.
In the post, the company also showed the first glimpse of the phone. The teaser revealed Huawei Mate X2 to feature an inward-folding design display. The design will be similar to the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 2.
The official teaser of Mate X2 also shows thinner side bezels on the upcoming foldable phone compared to its predecessors.
Huawei Mate X2: Likely specs
Previously, the foldable phone has allegedly been spotted on listing website TENAA under model numbers TET-AN00 and TET-AN10.
It is expected to feature an 8.01-inch primary screen with 2480x2200pixel resolution. The secondary display will measure 6.45-inch. The phone is said to offer a refresh rate of 120Hz.
Rumours have it that the Mate X2 will be powered by the company’s own HiSilicon Kirin 9000 SoC processor. The device is likely to be backed by a 4,400mAh battery with 66watt fast charging support.
The smartphone is said to offer a quad rear camera on the back consisting of a 50MP primary lens. For selfies, Huawei Mate X2 is expected to come with a 16MP camera at the front. The phone may run on Android operating system.
