However, resumption of flights between the two nations will happen in a phased manner, Puri informed. Till January 23, only 15 flights per week each for the carriers of two countries to and from will be allowed. This will also be restricted to only four cities, namely Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
The announcement comes two days after the government had decided to extend flight suspension till January 7.
The Centre had suspended all flights between India and UK from December 23 in wake of the new and more infectious strain of coronavirus.
